Fifth French VW Bus meeting in Cherizet, Burgundy

On 19, 20 and 21 August, the 5th French VW Bus Meeting, the largest gathering of Volkswagen Combi vans in France, was held in Chérizet, in Saône-et-Loire, in southern Burgundy. On this occasion, 1500 Combis of all generations gathered on a campsite set up for the occasion on the banks of a pond. Visitors were welcome to admire the beautiful combis, mainly from France, but also from Norway, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. And they didn’t miss out. Some 20,000 visitors passed through the alleys of the event over the course of three days. The atmosphere of this event was festive with concerts throughout the weekend and a fireworks display on Saturday evening. After a 4th edition which had already attracted 1700 combis, this 5th edition of the French VW Bus Meeting is the unmissable event for VW combi enthusiasts. If you are one of them, make a note of the next meeting in August 2024.

European VW Combi Rally

Prevented during the Covid years, the 5th French VW Bus Meeting is finally coming back to Chérizet, in Burgundy – Saône-et-Loire, on 19, 20 and 21 August. 1500 VW Combis and Transporters of all generations will be expected for the occasion. If you own a VW Combi you can participate in the event. The price for 3 days is 69€. This gives you access to the concerts, the show on the lake and the sanitary facilities. The number of places is limited and will only be available in advance.

You don’t have to stay on site, or even have a suit, but you can come and watch the concerts or admire the beautiful VW suits that will be on show. The price for the day is 10€. It is advisable to reserve your place on the site, especially as the pre-sale price is 8€. The 3-day pass costs 15€. On Sunday, admission is free.

The campsite in Burgundy Château de l’Epervière has expanded its team this winter, to the delight of children. Three goats have just arrived on this campsite located between Chalon sur Saône and Mâcon. The children will be happy to go and feed them.

The Vélo Gourmande in South Burgundy is an epicurean bike ride through the Mâconnais vineyards. A 25 km ride punctuated by gourmet breaks to taste the delicious wines of Southern Burgundy. A very pleasant way to meet those who make up the gastronomy of the Mâconnais: chefs, winemakers, etc. The 2022 edition will take place on 15 and 16 May.
