With its 12,000 hectares, the Gulf of Morbihan is a veritable inland sea dotted with small islands. It is a magical place where the sea, land and sky blend together in ever-changing landscapes. It is no surprise that the Gulf of Morbihan is part of the prestigious club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World.
This gulf provides a beautiful setting for welcoming more than 1,200 traditional sailing boats for a week. These boats are divided into 13 homogeneous fleets (sail-and-oar boats, classic yachts, old fishing boats, etc.), to which are added around thirty spectacular sailing boats from Europe’s heritage. These fleets take turns stopping in the 19 municipalities participating in the event (Arradon, Arzon, Auray, Baden, Crac’h, Hoedic, Houat, Ile d’Arz, Ile aux Moines, Larmor-Baden, Le Bono, Le Hézo, Locmariaquer, Plougoumelen, Saint Armel, Saint Gildas de Rhyus, Sarzeau, Séné, Vannes). All the boats come together for the grand parade that closes the event, providing a superb nautical spectacle.
Camping in Morbihan for the Semaine du Golfe
In addition to the spectacle provided by the boats sailing on the Gulf, all the towns hosting sailing boats organise festivities throughout the week: oyster tastings, concerts, exhibitions, public dances, fireworks, etc.
Make the most of your camping holiday in Morbihan by taking part in the great ‘Semaine du Golfe’ festival!
