Located on the Durance hillside for 40 years, the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Little Carpe Diem campsite cultivates calm and relaxation in a family atmosphere in the middle of century-old olive trees. A place with a remarkable environment where each pitch is a jewel for your holidays. Located away from the hamlet “Les Pourcelles”, on the road leading to the Durance canal, here nature is.
Or in the old olive groves (from which the owners of the campsite harvest the olives!), there is no lack of space to pitch your tent.
A campsite… An unattainable dream that Mélanie and Sylvain (campers at heart) talked about for a long time during our travels before taking the plunge in 2018, when they discovered the jewel in the crown that was Little Carpe Diem (“Les Olivettes” at the time). Now, their work for our clients’ holidays has a real meaning: to offer this “Pas de coté” which is dear to us, and to put your daily life in brackets for a while. “Working for people on holiday” gives a real meaning to their work, their welcome and the moments of
and the moments of sharing that they experience with their clients. They want to offer a piece of caring and attentive humanity.
With an original offer of “private toilet cabins”, the comfort of the welcome is in the spotlight, in an “eco-camping” mode which is dear to the owners of this campsite in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
Each pitch is designed to preserve the privacy of your holiday: hedges, low pebble walls and olive trees harmoniously delimit the plots.
But the surrounding fields are open and accessible: No fences at Little Carpe Diem!
And there is always something on offer: swimming pool, 2 sanitary blocks, a full bar and a range of “Bruschettas” in season, so you can enjoy collective barbecues with friends at sunset… In the typical Provencal village of “Lurs” opposite the campsite 🙂
Mélanie and Sylvain invite you to share their respect for nature and the environment.
The respect of our planet for future generations is a priority for them.
They have taken it to heart to integrate the campsite into its natural setting and to minimise the impact of the buildings and facilities.
Do you travel by electric vehicle? So do they 🙂 The campsite provides guests with a DOUBLE high-powered recharging station (22kW) according to your needs.
They produce their own energy within the campsite, and can guarantee that the energy impact of your holiday has been 100% saved in the off-season to come and serve you in the summer 🙂
In high season, the bar completes its offer of drinks and ice creams with a choice of bruschettas to be shared or as a short meal.
And every Thursday evening, a music/songs evening, in a spontaneous and simple way: Sylvain takes the guitar and sings with Coline (his grown-up daughter) on the bar’s terrace, often accompanied by holidaymakers (the guitar, piano and cajon instruments are freely available at all times).
* A few pedal strokes (or with good shoes): follow the “Chemin des Oliviers” starting from the campsite, where the fields of some 80,000 trees, some of them centuries old, give our commune of LES MEES a recognised and appreciated PDO oil.
* A few minutes by car: the “Cascade du Lauzon”, a water hole below a bridge and its mill to go and soak your feet… and more during the hot Provencal afternoons 🙂 For the curious, the “glacière des Buissières”, a visitable vestige of a historical work shows that even in Provence ice was kept all summer long. – 10 minutes on foot from the Lauzon waterfall
* 30 minutes by car: the “Gorges de Trévans” and their clear waterfalls offer themselves to you during a 2 to 3 hours walk, in the middle of a landscape of a raw beauty, to be done “à la fraîche”. And of course the unmissable Gorges du Verdon, Plateau de Valensole with its Lavender, Sisteron, Forcalquier and Digne-Les-Bains… to discover and rediscover!
