A new Bürstner van made in France

For eight years, the Franco-German brand Bürstner had abandoned vehicle production at its Wissembourg site in Alsace in favour of its Kehl site on the German side of the border. However, in response to market demand, the Wissembourg plant is back in business with the new Copa van. A compact vehicle based on the Ford Transit Custom, which confirms the popularity of vans at the moment. The Wissembourg factory is thus reviving a tradition. From 1974 to 2014, it produced caravans and motor homes. The Copa will therefore be the first vehicle made in France by Bürstner for 8 years.

A compact van with a pop-up roof

This Copa van is based on a Ford Transit Custom. It is a very pleasant vehicle to drive, but it has one small flaw: its height. With its folding roof, the Copa exceeds the 2 metre mark (2.09 metres). It is therefore not certain that it can pass category 1 motorway tolls. Not to mention the 2-metre bars that prevent access to certain car parks. Apart from its height, the Copa van is compact with a length of 4.97 metres and an overall width of 1.99 metres. It is available with two engines: Ford Transit Custom 2.0 EcoBlue 130 hp at €4,690 or Ford Transit Custom 2.0 EcoBlue 185 hp at an additional cost of €3,125.
The interior rail system allows the Copa to be a flexible vehicle that offers several possible layouts from 4 to 6 seats.

A well-equipped van

The Copa is well equipped as standard: tinted windows, 16″ aluminium wheels, parking assistance, tyre pressure sensor, cruise control, etc. The Copa is well equipped as standard, with tinted windows, 16″ aluminium wheels, parking aid, tyre pressure sensor, cruise control, etc. This equipment can be enhanced with various options such as automatic gearbox, bi-xenon headlights or the Ford safety pack.

We will be sure to offer you a test of the Copa as soon as it becomes available.

It is because we love traditional camping that we thought of this site. Because we sometimes regret that the rental accommodations now occupy so much space on campsites, we wanted to highlight the sites where tents, caravans and motorhomes are still the majority. And to offer all those who share our love of the outdoor life, a site with travel ideas, technical advice and above all a choice of campsites where it is good to come and put up your caravan or tent.
