Anjou Vélo Vintage, the rendez-vous of the vintage bikes on the banks of the Loire

Info COVID 19: Due to the Covid 19, the 2020 edition of Anjou Vélo Vintage is unfortunately cancelled. Cycling and retro enthusiasts will gather on the banks of the Loire River in 2021.

Every year, at the end of June or the beginning of July, Saumur comes alive for 3 days to the sound of post-war jazz and guinguettes on the occasion of ANJOU VÉLO VINTAGE.

Over the weekend, thousands of people gather in Saumur for the tasteful bike rides of yesteryear. The rule is simple, participants in these bike rides must come dressed in retro costumes and, if possible, on a vintage bike. The decade remains your choice. Each of the six rides proposed (from 30 km to 130 km) then turns into a colorful parade, full of good humor. In addition to the 10,000 cyclists who meet in Saumur, more than 40,000 spectators gather on the roadside to enjoy the spectacle.

A retro village on the banks of the Loire

In the heart of the historic centre of Saumur, between the Château and the Loire, the retro village of Anjou Vélo Vintage brings together more than 140 exhibitors. Clothes and accessories, furniture or various and varied objects with a vintage spirit will be offered. A flea market is also aimed at cycling enthusiasts of yesteryear with vintage pieces: derails, hoses, etc.

3 days of free concert

During the 3 days of Anjou Vintage Bike, Saumur comes alive to the rhythm of swing and jazz musicians. Throughout the weekend, concerts and activities take place at the foot of the Château de Saumur, facing the Loire: evening guinguette and big swing ball are notably on the program.

It is because we love traditional camping that we thought of this site. Because we sometimes regret that the rental accommodations now occupy so much space on campsites, we wanted to highlight the sites where tents, caravans and motorhomes are still the majority. And to offer all those who share our love of the outdoor life, a site with travel ideas, technical advice and above all a choice of campsites where it is good to come and put up your caravan or tent.
